I need your opinions!!

Hey guys,

I know not all of you are web design geeks/obsessed like me, but I'd appreciate it if you could just take a minute to look at a poll I have set up on my blog allowing people who visit to vote for a new design for my site. There are four extremely different choices and I can't decided. So I would like to get the opinions of others before I make a final decision.

Thank you I'd really, really appreciate your time!

Gotta Love NJTransit

Just made my train, again. Another derailment, another day. It's getting ridiculous - it's been about one derailment a week.

Had a freakishly busy day. Spent the whole morning finishing off the Great Clips template - Nathaniel decided he wanted this coupon thing that when you clicked the link it took you to a form. From there the use could decide to use the form to have the coupon emailed to them, or print the coupon right from there - which meant creating a special stylesheet that allowed them to print out ONLY the coupon.

After then I went through tickets - one of which I shouldn't have done at all, but I did for the sake of time and aggravation. See, here's the problem - we have hired a company in India to do setup for some of our clients. It's cheap - like 10-15k for the whole year for like a team of 10-12 people. Anyway, that's about the only good thing because they suck really bad. Everything they do is bad. Really bad. They use HTML 4 in XHTML strict templates, can't design for shit (if a client should request a redesign of one of our original templates) and aren't good commicators. Anyway, one of the India team members edited a client's site and broke the HTML by removing a part of the code that collapsed the whole template. So I had to go back in page by page and fix the mistakes. Realy fun. Not only that, this particular client specializes in hair restoration (ie: transplants). For the stock photos in the flash gallery used on the pages they added in photos of a female nurse, a handy man, a teenage girl, a middle aged woman and a man dressed up in a business suit.... um, ok...

After that I busted my ass finally having time to finish up the pet care template. Still not quite finished but will be done early tomorrow morning. No way in hell I'm working on that tonight.

Also, have I mentioned my distate for sales people? Yes, my fiance/boyfriend/Paul (lol) is in sales, but still! They are all pushy, ignorant to what they are selling (in the case of my company) and want it done NOW. They don't understand shit takes time. Especially MY time. I'm the ONLY PERSON coding new templates. To explain that - we have a goal of creating 3-4 brand new templates a week. Each template takes me about 1.5 days to slice, and code then add in the dynamic code for our CMS. As you can see that's most of my time there.... than add in the fact that I am the ONLY ONE who does all tickets. My tickets range from "segmentizing" a pre-existing template (that means copying a template we already have, say a doctor - and changing it to be used for our lawyer clients - that means changing all stock photos, demo text and adding/removing and dynamic code that doesn't work for that segment), fixing errors for templates that already exist, helping the setup team if they have any publishing issues/questions AND delegating any other issues to the other members on my team (ie: sending copy requests to the copywriters, sending graphic design requests to the designer, etc). THAN I have marketing projects. Which can range from a simple landing page with a form to a full blow website. Let's not forget any side projects I may get assigned to for our platform, or other things we do behind the scenes... I'm doing the job of like 3/4 people.

And not to be bitchy, but there is no way in hell I'm going to rush through and do a terrible job and than get chastised for it later on. I'd rather be late then hand in something half-assed.

Well, enough about work.

Can't wait to get home and relax. My hip/sciatic thing is killing me.

I spent the whole day listening to a new station I created on Pandora a little rock/alt station which I populated with all my favorite artists, than pandora blends in other artists I may like based on those choices. Usually I only listen to R&B/hip-hop, but I feel like switching up for a while. So much of it is the same. I'm getting bored of it.

The Rhinebeck (Dutchess County) fair starts tomorrow. Can't wait. I really hope to go sometime during this week or weekend. Prolly can't though because of Paul's shitty work schedule this week. Eh, oh well. Prolly should save the money anyway.

Hope Reina puppy is ok. Anothe long day in the cage. :( Poor puppy. I swear, I can't wait until we move and Isaiah will have his own room. Maybe he'll finally sleep the night through... Maybe! Let's see just 10 more days! HOLY SHIT!

JUST TEN MORE DAYS!

Paul is supposed to bring home boxes tonight and during the week. I hate packing, I hate moving and I hate unpacking. It'll be worth it though. I still have to give my current landlord official notice. Ooops.

Note to self - call cable to schedule an appointment to get cable setup in new house.

Oh well, I'm going to go finish the article I started writing this morning for my blog.

Breathing Issues

I'm having trouble breathing.

Unless I take an extremely deep breath in I feel like I'm not getting enough air. Yes, I AM 6 months pregnant. But I'm not big yet. I'm barely popped to tell you the truth. GWAR. It fucking pisses me off. Loll, anyway.

The past couple of days I feel like there is an elephant sitting on my chest. Like it isn't expanding enough for me to get enough air while taking a normal breath.

I'm not stuffy. I don't have allergies. Just plain old pregnant.

Bye Bye Booost

Fuck Boost. Please if you ever think of getting a prepaid phone DO NOT under any circumstances go with Boost. Fucking $10 in one day. 20cents a minute. 10cents per txt message.

FUCK THAT!

So anyway,I'm going to get that VOIP phone by Yahoo. $10 gets you 1000 minutes. Do you know how much 1000 minutes is to me? I use maybe 250 a month. They charge $0.01 a minute. That's amazing. Plus you can get your own number for people to call for $2.49 a month.

So as soon as Pauly gets home tonight I'm gonna have him put that on his card for me. Than no more worries. I can't believe what a rip off boost is. Fuck that.

Beautiful Day

Oh my, it is SO beautiful today. A little too hot outside, but so, so pretty.

Just got Winty back from David. He took her to her checkup today. He asked if I wanted to go, but that really would not have been wise. Poor little baby girl had to get 4 shots :( She came back freaking out. So I bribed her to stop crying with yummy arrowroot cookies. :)

Spent alllllll morning bidding on jobs. Hopefully something will come through. I didn't realize how much I missed working.

I have to say though I have a problem both working and keeping up with the house. When I work, I work from the time I get up until late. I have to budget my time better. Like completely stop working at 7pm, unless it is an emergency, or important project.

Spent all day yesterday working on the graphical design for two templates I'll be offering on my site. Aside from all the templates I already have, I'm going to have a pay section now, for higher quality blog templates and business templates.

These are ones I came up with yesterday:

Not much else doing. My freaking phone ran out of minutes yesterday. I had to replenish it this monring for another $20. Stupid Boost.

Yay speaking of hoping to win a job, I just won a $200 dollar bid on a simple design port from MT to Blogger. YAY.

Anywho, let me get to work then :)

Later tonight or tommorow I'll post pics of the new hari vs. the old :P Plus 16 weeks preggy pics.

New site

Crit me:

This is my new website. My old company name is switching from Triple L Productions to CSSgirl. Tell me what you think of the new design? This is just a static demo HTML workup of the site. The only thing that works is the hover action on the first portfolio sample.

So tell me what you think:

Main page:
http://www.cssgirl.com/cssgirl/fin/

"inside" (entry) page:
http://www.cssgirl.com/cssgirl/fin/inside.html

It's clean and simple, and a lot better than the current clunker (http://triplelproductions.com).

It will be running on Wordpress. Also have a new complete design for my portfolio coming too. So excited!

You know what I hate? The fact that it's fucking 70 degrees and I can't have my fucking window open because the fucking assholes downstairs can't go a fucking day without smoking weed about 5 times a day. It's sad when you are a fucking 40 year old woman and need to fucking wake and bake with your 21 year old son every fucking day.

Damn.

I have my window open and now my whole apartment smells like weed.
Life Goes On

Well, here I am again, new journal. New life. Some of you may be carry-over friends from my old journal lalindsey; some of you may be new friends, so welcome.

I've made a few new promises to myself with this journal.

1) Write one real entry EVERY day. Even if it's bullshit I want to look back at this and remember exactly how I felt, and what was going on this day.

2) No leaving stuff out. In my old journal I would write only about minor things, non-important, or good things. I left out important things like how I really felt, and what was really going on to save my image. If people don't like it, oh well, right? My journal is not here to please YOU.

So I hope I can abide by that and keep this interesting and stay interested!

Also this journal is going to be half and half - half public - half friends only. Personal stuff will obviously be friends only. Everything else will be made public.

And here's a little summary about me for those of you who don't already know -

I'm a 24 year old mother of two (Mason - 5 and Winter - 1). I am also pregnant with my third child and due October 27th, 2007. I left my boyfriend of almost 7 years in July 2006 after years of misery and him cheating on me. I'm currently engaged to the love of my life Paul, who is 34. I'm a web/blog designer and stay at home mommy. I'm born and raised in New York. I like to read, write, cross stitch and hang out with my friends at the bar (once or twice a month when I get a break from the kiddies).
